won a race

On Thursday afternoon I was leaving for a long bike ride when I remembered that there was a triathlon nearby on Saturday. I did the ride anyway, 74 miles on my triathlon bike.

Then today I did the one- hour bike hike to Lake Elmer Thomas by Mount Scott to race a triathlon called Body vs. Earth, which is a quite long sprint. I had enough time to do a pretty good swim warm up as well. I was second out of the water (duration about 10.40), led the whole bike (18miles) but another guy really got to the transition at the same time. During the past 8 weeks I hadn't done a single hard bike workout so I didn't really feel strong but it went well enough.
The run was a 4 mile trail run but still I hadn't expected anything hard, but I was wrong. The course was a one- loop trail with very steep ups and downs, and it was very rocky with loose sharp rocks. My foot slipped a few times going down the hills. Some Finnish curse words were used. I was behind the other guy for a mile but then passed him but he caught up to me a couple of times later on, partly because there were moments when I wasn't sure where to go next. I can barely say that I ran the whole way: it's a funny feeling going up a steep hill almost walking, but exhausted and breathing super heavy!
I got to the finish first and then rode one hour back home. Not a lazy day!
